Anyone who knows me well, knows I am always running somewhere.
I remember the first time I received a medal in school. I was 8 years old and I came second in the cross country run. My mother's instant respond was "Girl, you trip when you walk, how did you manage to run and get a medal?!"
I have never done a half marathon, let alone a full one. But fortune favours the bold, so I jumped at the opportunity to take part in this year's New York Marathon with the Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation. Why wouldn’t you when it is for such a wonderful cause?
Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation endeavours to make life-saving impacts on children in extreme disadvantaged communities by giving them a chance to take part and have access to different sports. All donations will go towards building facilities and providing equipment as well as training programs, pathways and mentoring from elite athletes.
I believe every child should be given the opportunity I had growing up “to bring home a medal and be passionate about sports”.
Your donation, however small or big will make a difference! Thank you.
