New York Marathon 2017 - Raising funds for kids through running and Footy Tips

Hi All,

After hearing what the Roger Rasheed Sports Foundation(RRSF) is doing for disadvantaged children here in our own backyard, I knew I wanted to help.  

The RRSF is helping get our disadvantaged kids off the streets, into sport and being a part of a sporting community. We all know how fulfilling and satisfying that is. The sporting facilities that the RRSF build bring children out of homes where domestic violence is high, drug use is high and the opportunity for the children to break the cycle is low. The sports facilities are manned at certain times each week with specialist coaches, assisting kids with skill development, before joining a sports team in the local area.  

What I need from you is a small donation so I can raise $5,500.00. 

You have choices. 

1) any donation will be greatly appreciated - simply donate here on this page

2) a $50 donation and join a footy tipping competition for the AFL 2017 season - simply donate $25 here on this page for the fundraising and transfer $25 to BSB 105 079 Account 053 345 140. Please use your name as a reference so I can tick it off. 

If you choose option two, $25 will go to the RRSF, the remainder will go into a footy tipping competition pool with $5,500,00 in prize money up for grabs. 

That's right, I'm looking to run a footy tipping competition to raise my $5,500.00 goal. Do the maths. I need you and 219 of your mates to chip in for this great cause.  Our footy tipping competition will have a strong community feel too and there will be plenty of banter.   So jump on board, get your donation in and your tips on. I will get my runners on, tips in and look forward to crossing the line in Central Park in November.

Hi Andrew, What a privilege to be able to race in such an event, but more so to be able to help so many children have a safe haven to escape to, courtesy of the Roger Rasheed Foundation. I am not aware of any other charity where 100 of the donations received go directly to the charity. I was totally overwhelmed when I realised that every member of the Roger Rasheed Board is a volunteer. Makes my donation feel even sweeter!
